About Me

Fala Pratika is an Indonesian filmmaker, writer, and researcher with an academic background in philosophy from Universitas Gadjah Mada. Her creative and research practices center on Indonesian women’s experiences. Since making her first film in 2020, she has continued to explore the intersections of personal memory, the female body, and the social structures surrounding them.

Working across documentary and fiction, she serves as a director, writer, and producer. Her research focuses on women in Indonesian cinema, including studies of horror and exploitation films during the New Order era and how contemporary audiences reinterpret their meanings.

Her work blends intellectual rigor with a sensitive visual approach, offering intimate yet critical perspectives.
